Book Review - Below the Mountains

This is the book I read and finished.

This book is about a girl named Amy Macdonald who has depression because she hasn’t seen her father for a long time. He is a mechanic on the Milford Road campus, where dozens of men have been sent to build a road tunnel in the mountains.

I like this book because it talks about the government's back in the day and how people were treated so unfairly, and men were forced to go to work somewhere far from their family and not knowing when their gonna see each other. Also when Amy got to see her father and live with him.

I suggest this book to 13+ because it’s very relatable to us kids, like how during the lockdown we had to learn how to be consistent and active, and this was also in Amy's case too but the different setting and she also tried her best to do the school work despite not having any technology.

  1. Hi Akesa! My name is Mia from Yaldhurst Model School. Great work! I liked your short blurb of the book, it sounds interesting. I liked the way you also added the suggested age.

The book sounds interesting, it's (I'm guessing here) sounds realistic and yes, it does relate back to us. If you had to rate this book out of 5 stars, what would you give it and why?

To improve, maybe you could add the place and time this book is in so we can get some more information on the setting of the book.

    Spectacular work!
    Mia
